Nyc ππ½πΊπΈ #Day3
Similarly to the day before, we grabbed breakfast at the same bagel restaurant next door and went to Central Park.

Shortly after checking out from the Airbnb apartment and saying bye to Quinn and Nick, I continued my journey to Prospect Heights, Brooklyn in order to meet up with my host parents. The apartment I was going to stay at was just around the corner from that huge Prospect park and the Brooklyn museum. After checking in at the new Airbnb my host parents (Cathy and Matt) and I left to explore and wander around the city. We started in Brooklyn Heights, which is another very prosperous neighborhood, right next to Dumbo and thus also Manhattan.

We wandered around those streets and unwinding at the park. Eventually, we grabbed some lunch at Shake shack, discovered Dumbo and crossed the Brooklyn bridge though.

This time I turned left at the end, heading towards the financial district. Not only did we want to check out the memorial and the freedom tower, but also the World Trade Center graffiti and the super fancy building known as the Oculus.

It is a very big mall and definitely worth a visit. Afterwards, we continued our walk towards the East river, crossing Wall Street, Americas finance center.

After hanging out at the piers we decided to take the Staten Island ferry which is actually another free activity to do. It takes you very close to the Statue of Liberty without paying a boat ticket and entry for Ellis Island.

After getting back to Battery Park we took a subway to Soho, which is personally my favorite neighborhood in all of NYC. There are a plenty of awesome stores as well as many cool restaurants. Moreover, there are not as many chains like on the broadway, the Empire State Building, Times Square as well as at Grand Central station.

After exploring Soho and Washington Square Park which is very busy at night all we wanted to do was to eat somewhere. Unfortunately we could not get a table at an Italian place that we were looking at. Apparently it was one of the best ones in the city. Thus, we ended up going to another Italian place near Washington Square Park, which was super packed as well.

This time we were lucky and the last ones who got in there without making reservation ahead of time. I have had the best pizza ever there even though I have gone to Italy a plenty of times. On top of that they had very good deserts and the prices were not too bad either, considering that you are in NYC.

I will definitely come back at the end of my trip. Well, even though this might sound like we ended the day right there we did not. We still wanted to check out Bryant park on 42 street. A pretty vivid and busy spot, but also cool to visit at night, since there is a fantastic atmosphere.

Our last and final destination for the day was Times Square on 48 street before heading back to the apartment in Brooklyn.

Another amazing day came to an end. We ended up walking over 14 miles again. I guess that is just what you gotta do while visiting NYC. Thatβs it for today. Stay tuned!
