Nyc 🏙🗽🇺🇸 #day2
5/21/19
After such an exhausting and long day I thought I could easily sleep in which did not turn out the way I wanted though. Well, there is always a good thing about getting up early though. First of all you got the whole day to explore the place you are at. Secondly, getting up basically means way less tourists around the city which is very pleasant in NYC. Before walking all day, we stopped by at a bagel store and got some breakfast. We decided to eat it on a rock in Central Park and really enjoyed the nice atmosphere.

In the early morning it is a really good place to get away from that rush and all those people heading to work. From Central Park, we walked across Columbus circle through the Upper West side, Hell’s Kitchen and eventually stopped at the Hudson Yards to check out that new building that just opened which is known as the Vessel.

It is basically a staircase to heaven as you can see in the picture at the top.
Before walking down the famous High line we checked out that big mall right next to it. The high line is a green park, which used to be a trail for freight trains. It is a little bit up and therefore provides amazing views over Manhattan and the Hudson River as well as Jersey City. It starts at 30th street and is about 2,3km long and takes you right through Chelsea as well as the meat packing. It ends at around 14 street right in West Village, a neighborhood which is located in the southwestern of Manhattan.

After walking the whole High line Quinn, Nick and I treated ourselves with some ice cream. The next trendy neighborhood on our list was Dumbo. It is a very prosperous district, providing many boutiques and fancy restaurant. Additionally, there is a big waterfront you can walk along or walk the famous Brooklyn bridge. We walked along many of those streets, checked out some stores, walked through Brooklyn bridge park and along that waterfront.

Furthermore, we had lunch at a shake shack that actually almost right next to the start of Brooklyn bridge which was our next destination.

After passing the Brooklyn bridge, we checked out a few more neighborhoods such as Chinatown, the Lower East side, Little Italy, Nolita, Soho and West Village while watching some of the city’s graffiti, small yards as well as some of the old tenements.

Since we only had a small meal at Shake shack Nick and I decided to stop by at Katz’s Delicatessen. It is one of the most famous restaurant in all of NYC. Many famous people have already gotten a pastrami sandwich there. It is super pricey, like nearly everything in NYC but also so good and worth a visit in my opinion. Since we had almost hit the 20km mark by the early afternoon, we decided to slow things down and check out another cool bar near our apartment before finally heading to Central Park to letting the day come to an end with some beer.
