Second day in New york
After eating breakfast this morning, our first stop was the 9/11 Memorial and Museum, which I can highly recommend to all of you!!!
We were able to get an idea of how the victims and New York citizens experienced that horrible day and which impact this tragic event still has on America and the whole world. Love is stronger than hate! We chose to buy a so called "Explorer pass" back in Germany (ours cost ~70$), that enables us to get free entrance to various sights here in New York. And we can say that it is really profitable, so just take a look if it is an option for you, too 😊.
After visiting the museum, we decided to eat Lunch an the Mexican grill "Chepotle" (yummi) and then move on to Broadway and the Rockefeller center, also known as the "top of the rocks". It's a huge shopping mall with a viewing platform at the top floor, making it possible to see the whole skyline of this huge city. It truly was unbelievable to see all those buildings, streets, cars and people appearing so small from up there... (By the way, we were happy to have visited the memorial before going up there, because it enabled us to empathize with the people, who decided to jump down from the Twin towers in order to avoid being burned to death at 9/11).
All in all, it was simply amazing and a "must see" in my opinion!!
We spent the rest of the evening walking through the streets and just enjoying to be here in America, with the best weather we could imagine ❣️
